Rapha

Motofish recently shot the Rapha Gentlemen's Ride. Rapha makes some of the nicest cycling clothing around. Fantastic designs, high quality material, durability and limited production numbers make Rapha some of the nicest gear out there.

The ride itself was a 137 mile course with about 5k of climbing from the Oregon coast to Portland. 23 teams, seeded by ability, of six riders each participated on this beautiful ride traveling the entire route virtually without touching a major road. A healthy climb in the middle, some gravel and dirt, and one last climb at the end punctuated a great day.

GT/Mongoose in Park City.

This past May saw Motofish in Park City, UT and southern California shooting for GT and Mongoose bikes. It was a great shoot. The Utah portion took place at Deer Valley and Park City - ride the chair up and try to keep up with pro riders Chris and Nick Van Dine, Steve Romaniuk, Andrew Cho, and Hans Rey (Well, maybe not keep up but don't make them wait too long.). Motofish was asked to bring a look and feel to the images that had some authenticity but were outside of the typical mountain bike style of photography. A very fun shoot the results of which can be seen below.

Motofish summer 2009 Woolrich shoot

Motofish recently wrapped up a shoot for Woolrich. The shoot took place over the course of a few days and highlighted the best of Washington State; we kayaked at Salt Creek, hiked in the Olympic National Park and fished for trout on the Yakima. We had a great crew and a lot of fun.

Boutique Resort Shoot in LA

Motofish traveled to LA to shoot some stock this past week. The shoot was centered around health, beauty, wellness, and boutique resort subject matter. Per usual shooting in LA is a breeze - killer locations, great talent and reliable weather; a virtual photography lay-up. The location we found for this shoot was a modern home in Sherman Oaks. Even after ten hours of shooting and close to 8500 frames we both felt like we could go back for at least one more day.

West Side Invite 09

Every year while working on the Raleigh catalog Motofish gets the opportunity to shoot at a counter culture bike event. Last year we shot the Dead Baby Downhill in Seattle and this year it was the Westside Invite. The Westside is essentially the bike messenger olympics for the Northwest; one handed trackstands, skid contests and an alleycat are the highlights. The Westside was the perfect place to shoot Raleigh's new Gridlock bike.

Red Torpedo at the Cretins' Motorcycle Club ...

Motofish recently shot another Red Torpedo catalog at the Cretins' Clubhouse in SODO. This was a great location that we pulled together to help give the motorcycle themed product from Red Torpedo a more authentic feel. The Cretins were great hosts and we had a fantastic time.

Garden & Gun

Garden & Gun is a southern lifestyle magazine that is all about the sporting culture, food, and arts of the South. Since it's launch in 2007 G&G has garnered many industry accolades for it's writing, photography and design. Last May Greg was asked by Garden & Gun to travel with writer Maggie McGuane to Belle Chasse, Louisiana to photograph the region's Cajun shrimpers. Shrimping in Louisiana is an industry in flux and many feel that the Cajun Shrimper is a dying breed. Late spring storms produced over 5 inches of rain and multiple tornados, making the assignment a challenge to photograph. If you haven't already, pick up a copy of G&G, especially if your roots are in the South.
