New Motofish vid...

Motofish spent last week shooting outdoors all over the Northwest. As well as having a great time we saw lots of different weather; from tons of rain in the Cascades, to a bit of snow in eastern Washington and gale force sand storms on the Oregon coast we saw it all. While all that made the shooting conditions harder it gave the shots a background and an authenticity that you just don't find in sunny LA for instance. So, we'll dry off, get our cameras cleaned and get back to it.

Thanks to all the crew and talent for a great shoot!

Seattle Magazine Shoots

Outside of a nice family vacation back to Maine Chris spent a good part of the summer shooting some editorial jobs. Two of those jobs were for the August and September features of Seattle Magazine both of which ended up on the covers. August was the shopping issue and September's feature was on top docs in Seattle which is always one of the more publicized issues. Both were great shoots and the results in print can be seen below ...

Filson Clothing Company

Filson Clothing Company recently commissioned Sweney to shoot for the upcoming fall catalogs. A company with a heritage, Filson has been supplying rugged clothing to outdoorsmen since the Great Klondike Gold Rush of 1897. Sweney was asked to bring a sense authenticity back to the brand. Here is a sampling from the shoots. Check out the latest Filson catalogs and website for more images.

Filthy! Apparently that's good ...

Motofish went hip hop Friday night and tried our hands at some bling-bling photography. Napoleon brought his killer GTO and Chris' neighbor Eric came with his friends and family to be our talent.

Greg wets down the pavement as a decidedly less cool car stands in ...

From the archives - waiting on a polaroid.

Now this is back in the day; doing the crossword while waiting for a polaroid to cook. I can tell from this photo that it was either a Monday or Tuesday as Greg probably wouldn't take a stab at a Wednesday puzzle.

Motofish is currently gearing up for a pampered pets shoot for Corbis, dogs, cats, iguanas and hopefully a pot bellied pig will be in the mix. We will hopefully start shooting in a couple of weeks.

Wood paneling, donuts, ties - it must be an office.

Here's a vid of Greg directing our fantastic talent Bob. Bob can juggle office supplies and is just pretty funny in general. We had great luck with talent yesterday. We also used Jacquie (pictured below as a slightly disinterested, among other things, secretary) who we used in the first ever Motofish shoot and who is part of our logo (bike on left).

Here are a couple shots of the set ...

... and finally a shot from the shoot itself.

Outdoors again ...

It seems like just a few weeks ago that we tried to shoot some rainy and muddy mountainbiking and got a sunny day instead. Well, last week we were hoping for a nice late spring evening to shoot some trail running and we got a bit of every kind of weather. Still a great shoot and we ended up making a bit of sun ourselves and taking advantage of some of the clouds as well. You have to be flexible to shoot in Washington! This ended up being a nice break as we're back to the wood panelled room for some office shoots this week.

Making a little sun at the end of the evening ...

We're Photographers, not contractors.

As April was out shopping for duds Greg and I were busy building our new set. Think basement rec room - lots of wood paneling. Thankfully these walls will only have to support unicorn pictures as our talents may lay in other areas; but, it'll work. The first shoot is going to be a ping pong shoot which gave us an excuse to buy a new table and gave Greg the opportunity to start fresh.
