Studio Snaps

After much planning, construction, code-following, duct-installing, etc., etc., and finally about five different inspections we 'officially' moved into our new studio. We are super excited about the new space and all that it requires now are the finishing touches that will make it a home.

OIselle shoot

Motofish just shot the Spring '09 line for Oiselle this past Friday. It was the first shoot in our new studio space and ended up being a great way to break it in (There will be some new studio shots soon). Oiselle is a new company specializing in women's running apparel that features clothes that have simple and clean design and look as good as they feel. Oiselle's focus is on the woman who loves to run and race. The clothes are really fantastic. Per usual we had a great crew including a new model we brought up from LA, Allie McCulloch.

The photo below is actually from the end of the day. Sally Bergesen, the owner of OIselle, coaches and sponsors a cross country team of 11 and 12 year old girls. They showed up at the end of our shoot for a Motofish team photo. On Saturday they had their last big meet of the season and qualified for nationals. Many congratulations!!

Motofish shoots a Platypus ...

... the water hydration system made by Cascade Designs, not the bizarre duck/beaver combo. Motofish teamed up with Cascade Designs last week to shoot their Platypus line on location in Eastern, WA and Sasquatch country. We had some nice locations, good talent, and great art direction from Karen of Cascade. At the end of the day we ended up with some nice shots, two very hyrdrated models and one bigfoot sighting (photo soon).

Motofish in Ventura

Motofish traveled to sunny SoCal last week to shoot for Precor for a few days. While we were there we decided to shoot a little stock in Ventura at the end of the week before flying home. The idea was to shoot the young and hip hanging out by the beach in their trendy hybrid vehicle. Taking advantage of the fantastic talent pool in LA and excellent weather we had a great shoot. The shoot had a slight detour in direction as one of our models, Britania, showed up in a 1982 Camaro - definitely not a hybrid.

Red Torpedo Vid

Motofish headed over to Eastern, WA to shoot for Red Torpedo a few weeks ago. Our location was an old brothel/gas station that is now used by the Ellensberg SWAT team for training.  A funky location, a couple motorcycles and a good cast and crew made for a good day ... Check out more of the images on our website or on the Red Torpedo website

New Studio digs ... soon!

Motofish has officially moved out of our old studio space and is slowly moving into the new digs. As you can see from the photos there is still some construction left to do but overall the place just feels fantastic and it will be a good new home.

here's an exterior shot ...

this shot is from the big front door looking into the shooting space.

the next two shots are from the east wall looking back into the offices, kitchen and workrooms. Our studio mates, Hammerquist & Nebeker will be in the upstaris offices.

While we don't gain any new space in our move the new studio will be much more finished than our old space which is good as its going to be home for the next ten years.

More love from Corbis, etc.

Motofish is also in the middle of shooting the lifestyle portion of the 2009 bike catalog for Raleigh USA. The Raleigh shoot has been lots of fun. We spent a couple days in the city, then were in Rainier National Park for a few days and now back to Seattle. Tonight we are shooting Raleigh's new fixie bike using the Dead Baby Downhill as the backround. That link can be found here (if you're curious...), Dead Baby Downhill

Lastly, here's a shot of our assistant Matt from location looking good ...

American Red Cross Award

Last summer Chris teamed up with Jenn Putnam of Jennergy, inc to shoot a series of five ads for the King and Kitsap County branch of the American Red Cross. The ads were designed to promote workplace safety training and were recently recognized by the American Red Cross with the "Best in the West" Award. Below are three of the five ads.

West Seattle Kayak Shoot

Motofish spent Friday afternoon and evening shooting kayaking for the June cover of Seattle Magazine. We waited for, and got, the only sunny day that has been seen in Seattle for awhile. The shoot went very well with excellent talent, lots of help from Greg of Alki Kayak Tours and h&m by Jennifer Popochock. Following are a few production stills and a couple of the shots ...

The moto on vacation ...

Galveston, somewhat equidistant for my far flung family. Never really been to Texas before, it sure is pretty here and quite large as well. We're right on the beach and my son Daniel is loving it (that's him with his Grampy). There's some spooky, biting, stinging things here though ...
